In botany, a fruit is the ovary and mature seeds of a flowering plant, and in many species, the fruit incorporates the ovary and the surrounding tissues. Thus, in botany, fruits are the means by which plants bloom and spread seeds.\nIn the kitchen, when foods are called “fruit”, the term is more used to designate the fruits of edible, sweet and fleshy plants, such as pears, apples, oranges…\nAccording to the World Health Organization (WHO) and the new food wheel, three to five servings of fruit should be consumed daily, depending on the needs of each person. It is important to consume different types of fruit. Fruit is a fundamental part of a healthy diet that must be consumed daily. These foods provide vitamins, minerals (potassium, zinc, calcium, magnesium, etc.), different dietary fibers, protective compounds (flavonoids) that help regulate the body. Antioxidants (vitamins A, C and E) are essential nutrients in the protection of cells, since they fight the action of free radicals, vitamin C is queen of vitamins, capable of strengthening the immune system.\nThe fruit has a sweet and pleasant taste. There may be, however, fruits that we can appreciate less, but the wide variety of fruits allows us to choose.\nThe fruit is essentially made up of water, from 90 to 95%.\nThe fruit has no bad cholesterol, which is present in many of the foods we eat.\nThe fruit has a positive effect on the human brain: it stimulates memory. Thinking about young and growing brains, those who study and the importance of memory makes this fruit benefit have an effect on the option to increase its consumption.\nThere is an idea that fruit is expensive, which is actually true, but if we compare it with other foods, we must give relevance to the clear advantages of fruit in our diet, and therefore, we must choose to replace some of these foods with fruit.\nEating fruit daily helps to maintain a balanced weight and prevent heart disease and cancer.
