Autumn landscape: river cascading over rocks surounded by trees with fall foliage
A forest is inundated by a stream flowing well beyond it's banks after heavy rains. Long exposure in dusk light.
Fall Creek Gorge is one of the unique scenic areas of west central Indiana. In Warren County, along with Portland Arch's unusual arch are two geographical areas. Not only do they both have steep walled canyons, Fall Creek also has a waterfall, tumbling waters over large, circular openings in the sandrock potholes which form the floor of the canyon. Both have unusual flora and fauna. One winter my photographer girlfriend of mine and I went on a mission to photograph the gorge. We used our tripods as hiking sticks, on all fours we scrambled up the tall canyon that usually has steps. After getting some photos, we now questioned how we would get down. Having our ski pants we used them as a slide. Fortunately, we got some good images and didn't get hurt. Warren County is isolated.

Amicalola Falls, located in the Amicalola State Park, is a 729-foot waterfall. This waterfall is the third-highest cascading waterfall east of the Mississippi River. Located near the start of the Appalachian Trail, the waterfall is a must do when visiting Georgia. The rushing water makes for a peaceful setting to a day's hike.
