Interior of Cave 9 at Yungang Grottoes, ancient Chinese Buddhist temple grottoes built during the Northern Wei dynasty near the city of Datong, in the province of Shanxi. They are excellent examples of rock-cut architecture and one of the three most famous ancient Buddhist sculptural sites of China. The others are Longmen and Mogao.
Each cave at Ajanta depict different aspects or stories from Buddha's life, cave 2 has some of the most well preserved depictions in detail expressing the stories surrounding Lord Buddha's birth and his previous incarnations. The scenes depicted show various people at different locations celebrating  His birth, some foreign visitors, horses, city scenes, dance and music.

Qinglong Temple was built in the Tang dynasty and restored many times in Yuan, Ming, and Qing. The mural depicted Sakyamuni Buddha preaching(it is the Sutra Illustration Paintings), which was painted in the Yuan dynasty.

This detailed mural painting is on an interior wall of the ancient Thai Buddhist temple of Wat Phra Sing, which is open daily to the public. The scene is interesting as it depicts ancient styles and costumes from hundreds of years the Thai ago that would have been the common look every day at that time.

These beautiful ancient murals have deteriorated over the years but there are still some in good condition.

Remains of painting on the ceiling of the Nandi mandapa of the central shrine, Cave number 16, Ellora monumental Caves in Aurangabad, Maharashtra, India. Ellora is a World Heritage Site epitome of Indian rock-cut architecture. The 34 caves are actually structures excavated out of the vertical face of the Charanandri hills. Buddhist, Hindu and Jain rock-cut temples and viharas and mathas were built between the   5th century and 10th century. The 12 Buddhist (caves 1–12), 17 Hindu (caves 13–29) and 5 Jain (caves 30–34) caves, built in proximity, demonstrate the religious harmony prevalent during this period of Indian history.   It is a protected monument under the Archaeological Survey of India.
