With approximate decimal equivalents in brackets, they are: one pound (£1); ten shillings (£0.50); Half crown (12.5p); florin (10p); shilling (5p); sixpence (2.5p); three pence (1.2p); penny (0.5p); half penny (0,2p); farthing (0.1p). The penny was the standard unit from the 7th century with the half penny and farthing (fourth part) being sections cut from the penny as needed.
