$Pentas lanceolata, also called Egyptian star clusters or star flower, is native from Yemen to East Africa. It blooms all summer long to autumn frost, with clusters of starry flowers. The color of flower ranges from red, pink, lilac and white. It is one of the best butterfly-attracting flowers.\nThe multi-color background consists of defocused celosia flowers.$

Red trillium (Trillium erectum). Three petals, three sepals, three leaves. Also known as purple trillium, wake robin, and stinking Benjamin. The smell attracts carrion flies, but I don't notice it. One of my favorite early spring wildflowers, with many around my house in Connecticut's Northwest Hills. A challenge to photograph because it's only about a foot tall and usually nods toward the ground. So, it's hard to get under it to show the flower. Find one that looks up and you're in business! Flowers glistering white stars, 28-38mm, the tepals with a broad band of green on the outside, erect, borne in a pyramidal raceme; anthers yellow.\nHabitat: Grassy and cultivated land.\nFlowering Season: April-June.\nDistribution: W Europe, naturalized in Ireland and Scandinavia. On the most habitats naturalized; possible only native in the East.\n\nIn the Netherlands sometimes along grassy Roadsides, cultivated in Parks and Gardens.$
