Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan - june 06, 2019: Ala-Too Square is the central square in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. The square and Monument Epic of Manas was built in 1984 to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Kyrgyz SSR. The sculpture was made by Bazarbai Sydykov. The 17m tall statue depicts Aikol Manas riding his magical horse, Ak-kula, and holding a sheathed sword. Manas is a mythical hero first immortalized in 1792 in an epic Persian poem of some 500,000 lines. Behind the statue is the building of the State Historical Museum.
