London, UK - July 20, 2019:  The historic Stage Door public house in the Waterloo district of Southwark, South London.  There's been a pub on this site for hundreds of years, Samuel Pepys wrote of it in 1665.
A man walks past the entrance to a commercial pub in London. Lamb & Flag dates from the early 18th century, having become a pub in at least 1772 (although back then it was called The Coopers Arms, changing to Lamb & Flag in 1833). In the upper area, bare-knuckle prize fights took place so the pub was nicknamed 'the bucket of blood'. The pub was often visited by writer Charles Dickens frequented the pub in the 1800s and was resurfaced with brick in 1958.
