Plumeria, also known as Frangipani, is a genus of flowering plant in the sub-family of Rauvolfioideae, of the family Apocynaceae. The genus Plumeria is named in honor of 17th century French botanist and Catholic monk Charles Plumier, who traveled to the New World, documenting many plant and animal species. The “frangipani” comes from a fictional 16th century marquis of the noble Frangipani family in Italy, who created a synthetic plumeria-like perfume.\nPlumeria is tropical tree, famous for its gorgeous flowers which are used to make leis (floral garlands).
Floss silk tree (Ceiba speciosa), (formerly Chorisia speciosa), is a tree that is native to tropical and subtropical forests of South America. It belongs to the family Malvaceae. Flowers are creamy-whitish in the center and pink toward the tips of their five petals. Its trunk is bottle-shaped, generally bulging in its lower third and is studded with thick, sharp conical prickles. In younger trees, the trunk is green due to its high chlorophyll content, which makes it capable of performing photosynthesis when leaves are absent.
Names include Japanese Sunflower, Mexican Sunflower, Marigold Tree, Tithonia diversifolia, Asteraceae. A hardy plant, invasive, and considered a noxious weed in Queensland and New South Wales, Australia.

Tabernaemontana divaricata, also called Crape jasmine, Crepe jasmine, Ceylon moonbeam etc., is an evergreen shrub or small tree native to South Asia, Southeast Asia and China. At one time in history, every white flower with a sweet fragrance was nicknamed jasmine, and the crape jasmine is not a real jasmine. In fact, crape jasmine plants belong to the Apocynaceae family and, typical of the family, broken branches “bleed” milky fluid.
