The port of Castro Urdiales is one of the most beautiful and emblematic of Cantabria. Its history dates back to Roman times, when it was an important commercial and fishing center. Today, the port preserves its fishing activity, but it also offers other attractions, such as the promenade, the Amestoy park, the monumental complex formed by the castle of Santa Ana and the church of Santa María de la Asunción, and the sculptures that they pay homage to netters, whalers and rowers.
