Opportunistic hunters, some reports indicate that they are capable of short bursts of speed approaching fifty miles an hour. Notwithstanding their impressive teeth and fearsome reputation, barracuda - and, indeed, almost all species of sharks - present no danger to scuba divers, unless one foolishly provokes them.
