Marguerite, also called Marguerite daisy, Argyranthemum, Paris daisy and some other names, is a small, shrub-like perennial in the family Asteraceae, which is native to the Canary Islands. Available in a variety of hues from white or yellow to pink or purple depending on the species, these daisies are similar in appearance to the Shasta daisy. The various species and subspecies result from hybridization. The Marguerite daisy has a long blooming time, from late spring to early fall.

Margaret is an evergreen perennial that was brought to Japan from Europe at the end of the Meiji era. Some varieties are treated as annuals. When planted in the garden, the stock grows every year and many flowers bloom in the spring. Margaret, which blooms with single white flowers, is famous, but there are many cultivars on the market, and there are many types of blooms and flower colors, from single to double. The leaves are thin and have pointed tips.
