Evening primrose (Oenothera erythrosepala) is a source for a well-known oil that has supposed (or actual) benefit in treating a range of symptoms from diabetes to eczema. As such, it is a well-known plant in the field of traditional medicines. Nice soft bokeh beyond selective focus.

Hooker’s Evening Primrose (Oenothera elata) is a tall native of western and central North America.  It can be found in meadows and woodlands up to 9,000 feet elevation.  It has a stout reddish stem with long, narrow leaves.  At the top is a cluster of wide yellow flowers with 4 petals.  The flowers have protruded stamens and a pistil covered in pollen.  The flowers open toward dusk and wilt the next day turning pink or red.  This evening primrose was photographed at Soliere Meadows in Flagstaff, Arizona, USA.

Oenothera deltoides is a species of evening primrose known by several common names, including birdcage evening primrose, basket evening primrose, lion in a cage, and devil's lantern. It is native to the Southwestern United States and northern Mexico, where it grows in sandy habitats from desert to beach. Joshua Tree National Park, California.
