Puente de la Mar (Sea Bridge) at Turia Riverbed Park (Jardín del Turia - Tramo VIII) in Valencia, Spain. After a devastating flood in 1589, the destroyed wooden structure was replaced by a baroque style one between 1592-96. The Virgin Mary sculpture on the bridge was placed there in 1720, carved by Francisco Vergara the elder.

Dakar, Senegal: Catholic Cathedral of Our Lady of Victories, also known as Cathedral of African Remembrance, is the largest church in Dakar and the seat of the archdiocese. The monumental building, designed by the architect Charles-Albert Wulffleff, draws its inspiration from multiple sources: neo-Sudanese style towers, Byzantine cupolas and terraces, caryatids to which young Fulani girls have lent their features. \nIt is located on Boulevard de la République in the Dakar-Plateau district.

We see here the Ratisbonne Monastery (Arabic: دير راتسبون, Hebrew: מנזר רטיסבון) is a monastery in the Rehavia neighborhood of Jerusalem, Israel, established by Marie-Alphonse Ratisbonne, a French convert from Judaism. Work on the building, designed by the French architect M. Daumat, began in 1874 on a barren hill, now in the center of West Jerusalem.

The genocide took place after The Young Turk Revolution involving the years 1914-1923 which impacted the Christian minority Pontic Greeks in Anatolia. The Young Turks wanted to 'Turkify' the Ottoman Empire and so a genocidal campaign took place against non-Turkish minorities. Between 1914-1923, about 353,000 Pontic Greeks were killed and 1.5 million were expelled.
