Nahant, MA: The historic Nahant Life Saving Station, established in 1900 and discontinued in 1964. Nahant is a peninsula about 13 miles north of Boston. The building is on the National Register of Historic Places.
Twenty miles or so from Holly Beach Hwy. 82 ends at the bridge over the Sabine River.  The river marks the boundary between Texas and Louisiana and the river empties into the Gulf of Mexico.  The old lighthouse was completed in 1857 and was deactivated by the Coast Guard in 1952. It is on the National Register of Historic Places, but in very bad repair.
