When Jesus, Son of God and Savior of the world was born, His birth was marked by a bright star in the sky. Three wise men or kings followed the star to the place of His birth. They presented Jesus with gifts--gold, frankincense, and myrrh. The story of the birth of Christ is found in the book of Matthew in the New Testament of the Bible. The Bible Art Library is a collection of commissioned biblical paintings. During the late 1970s and early 1980s, under a work-for-hire contract, artist Jim Padgett created illustrations for 208 Bible stories encompassing the entire Bible from Genesis through Revelation. There are over 2200 high-quality, colorful, and authentic illustrations.

It is believed that Islamic philosophers and artists learned about geometry by looking at the works of Greek philosophers and mathematicians, like Euclid and Pythagoras. These lessons allowed them to create the beginnings of mosaic art which are tessellations. Tessellations are created when a certain shape is repeated over and over again. The complexity behind these designs really highlights the beauty and uniqueness of Islamic architecture in its Golden Age.
