Human liver. Cirrhosis is a liver dysfunction caused by the formation of scar tissue (fibrosis) due to damage caused by liver disease. It is most commonly caused by alcoholic liver disease, non-alcoholic steatosis or hepatitis. Microscopically, its main features are the presence of regenerating nodules of hepatocytes and of fibrosis, or the deposition of connective tissue septa between these nodules.

Chronic viral hepatitis B. Chronic hepatitis B infection lasts six months or longer. It lingers because your immune system can't fight off the infection. Chronic hepatitis B infection may last a lifetime, possibly leading to serious illnesses such as cirrhosis and liver cancer.
Light micrograph of a lactating breast. There are numerous round alveoli, with their lumens occupied by the secretory product (milk).
Aspergillus Fumigatus seen through a microscope. The mycelium consists of slender, tubular, pale coloured, extensively branched, thin walled hyphae.

Typical Carcinoid. Site: Lung. Carcinoid tumors are rare, slow-growing cancers. They usually start in the lining of the digestive tract or in the lungs. They grow slowly and don't produce symptoms in the early stages.
Adrenocortical carcinoma is an aggressive but rare cancer originating in the cortex (steroid hormone-producing tissue) of the adrenal gland. The tumor displays sheets of atypical cells with some resemblance to the cells of the normal adrenal cortex, with large areas of hemorrhage and necrosis
Histological section of kidney tissue taken with microscope. Nuclei stain blue and cell cytoplasm is pink. Scattered red blood cells. Mostly tubules with two glomeruli present. Hematoxylin and Eosin (H&E) stain. More tissue sections:

Fatty liver disease (steatosis) is a common condition caused by having too much fat build up in your liver. A healthy liver contains a small amount of fat. It becomes a problem when fat reaches 5% to 10% of your liver's weight.
High magnification micrograph of a mucous salivary gland as seen with the light microscope in a 0.5 micrometre thick section of plastic embedded material stained with toluidine blue. Typical mucous tubuloacini with a central clear portion filled with mucous granules and peripheral nuclei.
