Palm warbler close-up. One of the first warblers to appear in the eastern U.S. as a spring migrant. Note the chestnut cap and streaks. Often wags its tail. Named for the palm trees in its wintering grounds. Breeds mainly in Canada, and winters in the Caribbean, Central America, and southeastern U.S. Photographed migrating north through Connecticut in early April.
