Bald eagles are large birds of prey with large heads, large bills and large feet. They have white heads and dark brown bodies and weigh between 6 and 14 pounds. Their average wingspan is between 5-7 feet and their average lifespan is between 20-30 years. They can be found near rivers, lakes, reservoirs, marshes , coasts and wildlife refuges. they feed on fish, mammals and waterfowl.
The year 2017 saw an historic flood in Death Valley, resulting in the Badwater Basin filling with actual water, and plenty of new erosion events and scars throughout the valley.
