Colorful flowering (or blooming) rhododendron after rainfall in late spring or early summer. The rhododendron hybride is called “Hachmann's Feuerschein”. \nHachmann's Feuerschein blooms with large, cherry red to deep red flowers from the end of May until the middle of June. The (evergreen) leaves are dark green and partly glossy. It grows moderately into a compact shrub reaching the height of one meter within 10 years. It was bred by Hans Hachmann in 1978 and has received several awards. The image was captured with a fast prime 105mm macro (or micro) lens and a full-frame DSLR camera ensuring clean and large files. Nigella damascena, also known as Love-in-a-mist and Devil in the bush, is an annual garden flowering plant, which belongs to the buttercup family Ranunculaceae. Native to southern Europe, north Africa and south-west Asia, it is found on neglected, damp patches of land. Its common name “Love-in-a-mist” comes from the flowers being nestled in a ring of multifid, lacy bracts. The flowers, blooming in early summer, are most commonly different shades of blue, but can be white, pink or pale purple, with 5 to 25 petals.
