Þingvellir is one of the main attractions of the Golden Circle and it is located within a 40-minute drive from Reykjavík. Þingvellir is formed in the unique geographical setting of a rift valley in the divide between the North American and Eurasian continental plates. The park contains various hiking trails, and activities like horse riding, angling, and scuba diving in the Silfra. Silfra is a fissure filled with clear spring water and a diver's paradise. It is famous for being the only place in the world where you can go snorkeling or diving between two tectonic plates.
