the better it is known the <br> more popular it becomes We have occasionally to modify opinions formed <br> of the value of new Roses but the Crimson Rambler is one that we <br> offer to our customers after an extended trial with greater confidence in <br> its merits It came to this country heralded as a wonder among flowers <br> but the most extravagant praises yet bestowed on it fall short of doing <br> it ample justice It is adapted to the entire country and should be in <br> every garden in America See cut <br> THE PRIZES IT WON The judges at one of <br> the principal flower shows in England when award- <br> it a Gold Medal the highest honor they could bestow <br> epitomized the views of all who had seen it when <br> they said that the ordinary premiums reserved for <br> new Roses of the highest grade were entirely inad- <br> equate to indicate the merits of the Crimson Ram- <br> bler At every exhibition throughout Great Britain <br> where it was shown it received the highest honors <br> and this opinion was endorsed The National Rose <br> Society of England the National Horticultural Society <br> of France and the International Exposition awarded <br> Gold Medals to Crimson Rambler <br> ITS GROWTH It is of rapid vigorous growth <br> plants in our ground attained a height of fifteen feet <br> the past season The flowers are produced m trusses <br> pyramidal in shape good specimens measuring nine <br> inches from base to tip and seven inches across <br> fairly covering the plant from the ground to the top <br> so that it is one mass of glowing crimson The color <br> is superb and remains strong and vivid to the end ; <br> plants in our grounds retained the bloom for two <br> months The profusion of bloom is marvelous over <br> three hundred blooms having been counted on one <br> shoot <br> AS AN EASTER PLANT It is essentially a <br> garden Rose but makes a magnificent specimen in a <br> pot or tub There was exhibited in Boston a plant of <br> the Crimson Rambler about four feet high and <br> three feet wide bearing nearly five thousand buds and <br> flowers Price 2-year old plants from 6-in pots <br> 5 00 per doz ;
