| Keywords: Wale waves.jpg en A Schoolboy ™s dream the music industry ™s great opportunity Olawale Olakolu popularly known as Wale Waves started writing songs at the age of 13 While in school he was influenced by friends and neighbours who made him realize his rare talent and his ability to mime songs of famous artists at that time He never stopped at that but moved to the next level as he started composing his own songs By 1995 in Loyola College Ibadan he co-formed a duo singing group called The Citizens with Olumide Afolayan Still burning with music-passion ¦a year later he started music professionally with friends- Twinax This group ™s musical strength exuded from their classical music background and theoretical music knowledge acquired from Bishop Akinyele Anglican Church Choir Ibadan They performed in several events and shows such as the DTD show at Lekki Beach in 1997 and 1998 respectively During his Ladoke Akintola University days handsome looking Wale who is always conscious of his looks was nick-named Wale Waves because of his natural hair waves He took part in several social activities; emerged as President and founder of several entertainment outfits TWISM one of the several outfits was famous for inviting a host of reigning artists like Plantashun Boiz Tony Tetiula Paul I K Dairo Father U-Turn X-Appeal Def-O-Clan Zule-zoo Ruggedman etc which is a rare feat to achieve then He joined Gentlemen Quartet G Q with Djinee Ego crooner Charles Iwuogo and Guitardious as members of the group Years after years passion and persistence laced his pursuits for achievements excellence and success He paid all the dues he ought to pay as life demands per time; sometimes he paid in tears and sometimes in pains Between 2005 and 2006 Wale Waves blazed several top notch events organized by prominent brands like British Council Party 2005 in Ikoyi Guinness 2005/2006 Party respectively Miss Oyo Beauty Show 2005 Miss U I Beauty Show 2005 Miss Osun 2007 Celtel ™s 2007 End of the Year Party The Next Movie Star TV Reality Show Eviction and Winners ™ Party 2006 and Opening Party 2007 respectively Ikeja City Awards 2007 etc Destiny is a product of right people right places and right timing This story would not be complete if some people like DJ A Y DJ Soul Flavour DJ Otega DJ Super DJ Ayo Dada Kunle and T M Seyi Akerele Willy Law James Alabi Netto Members of 822 networks etc are not mentioned and appreciated No doubt Walewaves is a brand that has come to stay having all that it takes to widen the industry ™s untapped opportunity - a local brand a dream with a global competitive presence and impact Walewaves believes strongly in originality and strategic changes that is capable of reviving re-inventing recreating and repositioning our music industry own Walewaves 2009-11-09 Vocalists from Nigeria People of Ibadan Waves hairstyle People with brown background | ||||
