After his capture by the Earl of Warwick & the Earl of Lancaster, he was taken to Blacklow Hill and was executed by two Welshmen on the orders of the Earls, and had his head cut off, (later sewed back on his body by some Dominican friars). Gaveston was buried in 1315, two years after his murder at King's Langley, Hertfordshire.
