Please feel free to copy this poster and use it in any way you wish as long as you mention, either on the poster or a website, that is was created by wisebuys21. At the top of the poster is the view of the Tyne Bridge and River Time which is said to be one of Tim Healy's favourite views of Newcastle upon Tyne. The outside of the Castle Keep is to the left and right, middle of the poster with the great hall of the Newcastle Keep in the centre. At the bottom of the poster are some of the many stair and passage ways within the keep. As a child we actually played chase in here. If you ever visit Newcastle upon Tyne, and I recommend you do, then a visit to the keep is a must. You can see where the George and Robert Stephenson works used to be from the ramparts. You can also see the famous Robert Stephenson High Level Bridge as well as the Swing Bridge and Tyne Bridge. Then there is also the Central Station and the famous diamond railway junction which has been photographed many times over the years with such famous trains as the Mallard and Flying Scotsman travelling along it. The keep is a really historical building with the site dating back to Roman times. The first castle was built by Robert Curthose the son of William the conqueror which was when the city of Newcastle got its name. The castle keep that is now standing dates back to the development by Henry the II. I really don't know why this building hasn't appeared in more movies over the years as it would make an excellent location for a historical, fantasy and even horror film. You will realise what I mean about the horror theme if you ever go downstairs by yourself, the temperature drops slightly and you can feel the hairs on the back of your neck stand up.
