Keywords: books literature text A new 2016 addition to Penguin Classics. Only 1359 large-size pages. About 20 years or so ago I had the first English translation of Sue's novel. It came in 4 cloth octavo volumes of a very light green color. I also had the 3 volumes of Sue's other giant novel The Wandering Jew, from the same publisher. The translation of The Mysteries was pretty bad, and so I ended up donating those old volumes to the library. This looks to be a much better translation. It'll be great if they do an edition of The Wandering Jew in Penguin. 19th century French literature isn't just Balzac, Flaubert, Hugo, and Zola. A new 2016 addition to Penguin Classics.
