The car registration is RI 2987. (Dublin registered - RI 1 to 9999 ran from December 1903 to April 1921). According to the Irish Motor Directory and Motorists' Annual for 1915-16, the owner of RI 2987 was Frank D. Mockler, Dunavara, Lucan. Think that the label on the trunk at the back may be a White Star Line label. Great array of posters in the background for Bass, the Coliseum Theatre, the Tivoli and the Empire, and for Kennedy's Bread. Note also the frame of one of the Ringsend gasometers at top left. So this photo was not taken early in the morning as the inner cylinder is down (i.e. not full of gas). If you stood at this spot today, the scene (structurally) would be almost unchanged...
