I went out for a walk today, and I ended up in the village of West Derby. It's one of many villages around Liverpool that got swallowed up in urban sprawl, but West Derby can claim to be the grandaddy of them all. It's older than Liverpool by many hundreds of years, and for donkey's years also had the biggest castle for miles. These days the architecture is...mixed. I think West Derby got developed before Conservation Rules really got a good grip, and hence it's a bizarre mix of architectural styles spanning about three hundred years. Walking along Hayman's Green, opposite the Casbah, I happened across this friendly cat guarding his moss topped wall. :) A bit like the one from Cumbria, it's another cat on a wall.
