The venue of choice was Lindeth Howe, a gorgeous, gorgeous place just outside Bowness in the Lakes. Despite the entire Lakeland being so very pretty at this time of year, the photos aren't brill. This is particularly so for day one, where we didn't arrive until just after four so the light was already failing. We headed out just into the grounds for a very little walk, and one of the things we encountered was this beautiful, beautiful tree. I suspect it might be a Japanese maple but I'm quite happy to be corrected.
