We couldn't finish the pesky crossword, but then a visit from Viki bearing Grasmere gingerbread lifted the spirits a little! In the evening I gave some long overdue attention to a couple of bits of hardware. The first job was to fix a laptop for a mate of my old man's. After that, it was time to look at Sue's Android media box, which seems to be working but then starts locking up playing video back. The first step, I think, is to eliminate wireless problems by cabling it up with copper. That can be tomorrow's job. It's a nice little device, but the remote doesn't quite have enough buttons to do everything you need with Android. It's really designed for a touch screen and so plugging a mouse in transforms the usability. I'll see how it is when cabled.
