Keywords: ip55 project 366 project366 switch weatherproof indoor white background ...or I suppose it could be a 'turn on' if you're feeling playful! This is, fairly obviously, a switch. We've recently got a new water feature for the garden, and with no power in the location we need to address that problem. I looked at weatherproof sockets, but of course what we really need is a weatherproof switch with hard wiring for the devices. This one is IP55 rated. That's not 'internet protocol' but ingress protection. It has a 5 rating for dust (some ingress acceptable, but not enough to hamper the operation of the device) and a 5 rating for water (no ingress from a 3 minute spray with a 6mm jet). That should hopefully survive a few years in the elements, and for only a fiver from toolstation, it's happy days. :) ...or I suppose it could be a 'turn on' if you're feeling playful!
