It started by me recruiting help from someone in Spain to help me out with a Birthday Present for someone in Finland. Then we went to Manchester so that Laura could vote in the Finnish Parliamentary Elections. That was weird! Seeing Laura in a room full of strangers all speaking Finnish whilst being in Manchester was just surreal! That done, as we were in Manchester, we continued the international theme by going to look at some planes. I thought our biggest fish of the day would be the departing PIA 777 which looked great, but then I could see a four engined heavy coming in. I was convinced from the landing gear configuration that it was a 747, but as it got closer Laura noticed the cockpit configuration which revealed it to be 'The Daddy'. It's my first spot of a commercial in-service A380, so something of a red letter day. Every time I see one I'm struck by how beautiful and complicated the wings are. Great stuff.
