The astronomers tell us that the moon is having a very rare near earth pass at very close distance. Whilst this may well have odd gravitational effects it also means that hordes of expectant moon snappers will be breaking out their long lenses to photograph our evening jewel. Sadly, as always, they'll be disappointed. British weather is unpredictable, but the closest you'll get to a cast iron certainty is that Liverpool + interesting night sky event = eight eigths cloud cover.
