Because of European qualification it got moved to Sunday and instead hampered Mothers Day. Everton have had a cracking run in Europe and utterly abysmal form in the Premier League since Christmas, and we were at the point where there was a lot of pressure on the team and particularly the manager, pictured here with his oppo from Newcastle, John Carver, to get a win on the books. That, I'm very relieved to say, happened today at Goodison with a stomping 3-0 victory over a competent, if lacklustre, Newcastle.
