I spent a big lump of today washing the car, and then a little lump photographing it, as I may be putting it up for sale. Before all that, the clear blue sky compelled me to put on the camera a rather tasy lens that I've borrowed from Dave and Carol. It's a 170-500mm autofocus Sigma zoom lens and it's huge. The objective is very large indeed - 86mm maybe? One of the party pieces of these lenses is their ability to turn a little white dot with contrails behind it into a recognisable aircraft - in this case a Lufthansa 747-400. I'm not sure where it was going to, but I hope it was a pleasant journey for all involved. :) OK, I know I've done this before but this time it was with a different lens.
