When I got to West Derby Road I got the chance to cross the road using a subway. There's not many of these left in Liverpool, for understandable reasons. Late at night, they're pretty damned scary. This was early evening though and it proved fairly civilised, without even the slightest smell of wee or lager! I'll not make a habit of it though.
