Well, I've neatly bookended the year by going to visit them today. It was a lovely afternoon, and against all odds the roads weren't too bad on the way home. I'm not a dog person but Bex very much is, and just for a change her yapping balls of dynamite decided to be a little calmer. I think I've touched lucky with this one, as shooting dogs in bad light is nigh on impossible. I've used one of my new Christmas toys though, which is a lovely 50mm Canon prime lens that stops all the way down to f1.8. Working without the zoom does take me back to my glory days of the clockwork SLR, but I like the result of this one. It does suffer for being at 800 ISO (I must start saving for a monster like Keith's!) but just about gets away with it. Only three days to go, but still not too late to fail!
