Due to the tragic death of Flt. Lt. Sean Cunningham, the Reds have had to have a reshuffle to stay operational. Red 10 is a critical role. This pilot doesn't fly in the nine ship formation, but instead travels ahead of the group doing all kinds of operational, logisitical and safety checks to ensure that it's safe for the Reds to display. The current Red 10, Martin Higgins, is to fill Sean's place as Red 5. This leaves the Red 10 position vacant, and the RAF have today announced that it will be occupied by none other than Flt. Lt. Sqn. Ldr. Mike Ling! The circumstances couldn't be more tragic, and certainly not what Mike would have wanted, but nevertheless he's back on the team, back in a red Hawk and back in the red flying suit. I can't wait to hear his commentary! With Laura being out of town, it was up to me to break the news to the boys, and here we see Big Lingy and Huge Lingy indulging in a particularly energetic 'high five'.
