Anyhow, on the way home I noticed that the light from the front of the car wasn't quite right, and indeed a quick visual inspection showed that I'd almost certainly blown a dipped headlight bulb on the nearside. Blessedly, thanks to a timely phone call and some swift action from Fred, it was fixed again in a couple of hours. But here's the question...the motor industry has some of the most talented and creative engineers on the planet. Why can't one of them come up with a better way to change a sodding bulb?
