Tonight's trip was to go and see 'The Impossible' as I suspect it's going to off screen this week. It seemed scarily and disturbingly realistic, to the point where - I'll be honest - it was downright uncomfortable at times. So, if not the most enjoyable viewing experience ever it was certainly an enlightening one. When I got home I learned a bit more about it (as I often do) and was surprised to learn that apart from the principal cast it was every inch a Spanish production, and indeed much of the filming took place in Alicante. My congratulations to the director, who managed to coax a genuinely emotional performance out of Ewan McGregor who can be notoriously hit and miss. What was most surprising was the budget. Quite how they made this film for ~€30M I'll never know. They made every single cent count. Great job. Another dull photo of the cinema car park I'm afraid!
