We flew down to London and did a few figure of eight circuits and got glorious views of Tower Bridge, Battersea, The new Olympics development, Westminster, the London Eye, Buckingham Palace and anything else you care to name in Central London. The flight was great, but the plane was a bit susceptible to pitch (which I'm fine with), roll (which I'm fine with) and yaw (which I'm really not fine with) so although it was brill, Duxford was a very welcome sight after 70 minutes. The good news is that the drive back was smooth and trouble free (though we did 'go posh' and use the toll road) but the bad news is that at some point I've done my back in, so I'm on a bit of rest therapy for half an hour now. :) [geodata on this shot is very, very approximate] It was a close run thing, and the pilot confided in me after the flight that the predicted wind on our landing was absolutely on the limit of the flight envelope for our aircraft, but nevertheless the show went on!
