These days window cleaners don't use ladders any more, and that's both a good and a bad thing. Back in the seventies and eighties you had no shortage of guys who were happy to run up and down triple extending ladders. This led to all kinds of usefelness, as you had someone capable of doing high level work at your house regularly. Window cleaning could easily become gutter clearing, aerial adjustment and anything else that needed height. These days it's all done from the ground, and although it's much safer we've definitely lost something! The guys use massive telescopic poles with thin hose running through them. You know, I'd love to get involved in this game myself but all this specialist equipment must be a nightmare to source.
