We got caught with our pants down a little, as we only had our compacts with us and we happened across a beautiful new family of swans. This, we suspect is mum guarding the kids, whilst Dad was flying (yes flying) down the lake chasing a couple of geese. I noticed that this year there were a couple of rafts moored in the lake, and I think that's for the birds. We didn't see cygnets last year, but we did the year before and sadly all but one of them was lost before maturity. Not so this year, I hope. I think I'll revisit a few times with better hardware.
