As the weather was quite nice, but not really strong sunlight, we decided to walk. The journey takes us past a road called St Albans. This is very probably the most pointless road in existence. It doesn't really go anywhere, and it doesn't have anything on it. It is lined with dereliction and wasteground. But that surely wasn't always the case. Was it named for the prosperous town in Hertfordshire? Was it named for the Catholic Saint who became the first British Martyr when he was beheaded in Roman Britain? Was it named for a church or a school? There are no signs of any in a google search. Was it wealthy? Was it poor? Did it contain graceful Georgian villas, neat rows of densely packed terraces, or maybe even factories or warehousing? Placed where it is in Everton it could have been anything, but for sure it must have seen better days than the ones it sees now. Maybe it will have its day once again. Fingers crossed. :) I've had a day off from work today, and we decided around the middle of the day to go to Asda to pick up something for lunch.
