| Keywords: We made it! After a day of hiking and breathtaking views, there we were standing on top of our third peak; we definitely saved the best for last! As I took those final steps, I felt my eyes get a little watery, in part due to the crazy wind gusts, but also because we did it and I can honestly say that I have never seen a view this remarkable in my entire life. Life didn’t feel real on top of that mountain, everywhere I looked there were colorful mountains, and beyond those, more mountains glimmering in the sun, creating rigid outlines against the bright blue sky. I stared as peaks towered over and beyond other peaks, as if screaming, “Wait! Look over here!” and “Don’t forget about me!” I felt overwhelmed at this jaw-dropping, beautiful landscape and could have easily spent the rest of my night up there. I’ve never been somewhere so remote and stripped of any human interaction; it is such a humbling and eye opening experience. Being here, allowed me to understand why people fight to preserve and protect this wilderness.
