The tree branch is almost emulating the Milky Way, and it's funny because we all grow "up", get taller, reach towards the sun. Nature and our galaxy are no different. This is April. By the end of August at this time, this part of our Milky Way will be almost vertically straight up and down, and to the far right on the screen. Possibly not even visible on camera. I plan to revisit this at the end of August to check on the progress. I'd imagine that tree won't bee so easy to see through. The Eagle Nebula is situated above the Sagittarius Star Cloud in the middle of the Milky Way in this picture. To the right, above the tree branch, Saturn is visible, with the Dschubba "forehead" star lines forming for Scorpius. The colors of our galaxy are absolutely stunning. The star clusters, constellations, everything. It's just absolutely amazing to see. Maybe I'm too amped, maybe I'm some big night sky nerd inside, but - I feel extremely privileged to be able to capture photos of the galaxy we reside in. Triggertrap first photo.
