We thought this may have been taken in September 1887 around the time of the "Mitchelstown Massacre", but as always, research here was a great help in establishing a more likely date of June 1887... The Plan of Campaign was an attempt to gain lower rents through collective bargaining, because prices for agricultural exports had fallen dramatically in the 1880s.
