The Loughlin House was purchased by the Sisters of St. Joseph from Dr. E. I. Loughlin who had built the house in 1938. The Sisters moved into the house on January 2nd, 1976. Loughlin House was established as a community house, with the goals of reconciliation, communication, consideration, hospitality and simplicity. In April 1986, the Loughlin House underwent renovations in order to prepare for a ministry of ex-psychiatric teens and young adults. This project ended in June 1989, and the house was re-opened as the LIFT house by the Sisters in 1989. Project LIFT began in June 1992. This is a non-profit housing project operated by LIFT (London Interfaith Team Housing Project). There was a second LIFT House located at 749 Little Simcoe Street. housing healthcare londonontario sistersofstjoseph |
