The sides have been grown appreciably in the past four days, three of the safety bulkheads are in place amidships and a fourth is just being erected toward the stern of the ship. New scaffolding is going up to permit further extension of the ship’s sides. The apparent absence of workmen is merely indicative of the efficient manner in which ships of this class are being turned out.
