By having MTVs of pretty korean girls dancing or animated screen savers with high quality pixels. Would you be impress by this laptop which you cannot try out the features at all? Answer: No, i would not be impress. Why does the retail store display the laptop in this way? Answer: I hadn't a clue! Would this particular instance turn away a few thousand dollars worth of business and thus affecting the bonus of management? Would a manager turn down $1 of extra bonus money? Answer: No! The store incurred opportunity cost of $3000 of lost sales from me. Now imagine that $3000 goes into your management bonus... Imagine i am not the only customer. How many other customers are turned away from this purchase in the industry? Answer: More than one! Would you reject higher Bonus from greater profits due to the right product placement, or would you keep quiet even though you noticed the business opportunity; for fear of losing your job and/or antagonizing powerful people? Answer: Anyone would be afraid and keep quiet. Everybody wants to change the world. But nobody wants to change themselves. How does that reflect your values as a person? Does your values align with the company's vision and the way you project yourself during your job interview? Answer: Talk is cheap. What if there is an animated video to attract the customer closer to the laptop in order to look at the tiny specification sheet of the laptop; after which the customer can move the mouse on the laptop to try out the features? Answer: Interesting idea? retail melbourne australia
