Sturdy. There were a number of H.M.S. Sturdys - one was a submarine. This Sturdy may have been the very first to carry the name - an S-Class Destroyer, launched in 1919. Sailors' Rests started in the late 19th century, and consisted of a Hall for classes, meetings, social occasions; and a Hostel to provide accommodation for sailors.
